Hanham (0) v Fry Club Colts (4) 22/01/06
The weather was sunny but very cold and during
pre match warm up one side of the pitch was still white with frost.
Fry's kicked off into the sun and started in
their normal determined way. 8 minutes in and the ball is played into the box
and Ryan Ellett gets it down, turns and shoots. 1 - 0
to Fry's.
Good header by Jack Baber
in the 12th minute went just wide. Fry's were not putting the ball through
early enough or their passes not finding the target.
Fry's seemed to step it up a gear especially
with Myles Jefferies & Jack Baber linking up
together with some good moves.
Great start to the second half for Fry's as 3
minutes in, Harry Pople weaves through the defence and fires low shot 2 - 0
Good attempt from Evan Thomas with a long range
shot on goal which is saved by the keeper.
Tom Sheehan is putting in some strong
challenges in defence to stop the Hanham
attack.
Tom Hooper is starting to take the goal kicks
and is getting some good height and distance to them. Tom Rose, in the Fry's
goal, comes out into his area and dives bravely at the feet of the advancing Hanham striker.
Dan Stone is having a strong game at the back
and is committed to each challenge.
In the 40th minute Fry's have a strong shout
for handball in the box which is not given by the ref but just after, a long
ball in by Justin Skinner is tucked away by Ryan Ellett
for his second. 3 - 0
Danny Curtis comes on for Tom Hooper in the
56th minute.
Good goal keeping by Hanham
denies Fry's many times.
Ryan Ellett gets his hatrick in the 59th minute flicking the ball over keeper. 4
- 0
John Cotgreave comes
on for Dan Buley with 10 minutes to go. Straight away
he comes close with a volley over the bar.
For the remaining 8 minutes Josh Brooks and
Lewis Marcham come on to add some fresh legs to the
team. It’s another great win for the boys and a clean sheet for Tom Rose in
goal.
